Introducing our 2nd Insurgence Convention

We are pleased to announce that we are holding a convention for fans of The Vampire Diaries and Smallville under the name INSURGENCE. It takes place on the weekend of 10th - 12th September 2010 and we are holding the convention at the fantastic Thistle Hotel in London Heathrow.

Registration Times

The Registration times for the event will be as follows: Friday 10th September:
Group A - 2pm - 2.30pm | Group B - 2.30pm - 3.00pm | Group C - 3.00pm - 3.30pm
Group D - 3.30pm - 4.00pm | Group E - 4.00pm - 4.30pm | Group F - 4.30pm - 5.00pm
and finally All Groups and any late comers - 5.00pm - 6.30pm
For Saturday and Sunday Registration Desk will be open from 8.00am.

Refunds for Photo Ops

Photo ops will be refunded only after the event, however you will be offered vouchers in replacement to spend on other photo ops or autographs if that is what you want. Refunds are not giving for Reserved Seating or Event Tickets as these are not guest specific. We will do our best to get refunds out asap after the event.

Important Changes To The Line Up At Insurgence

Hello we know this is going to be disappointing news for everyone including ourselves but we are very sorry to announce that both Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have had to withdraw from the upcoming convention. Their manager informed us on Friday there was a possibility that both actors would have to pull out as the Studio requires them to work the weekend we have our convention, while they had agreed to come it was always subject to work commitments, normally we would have known a good few weeks ago but this has been very short notice for us and as most of the major cast members have also been recalled for filming we are very grateful that Michael Trevino has got the all clear to appear this coming weekend. Their manager has tried all weekend to persuade the Studio to allow the guys to come even for one day but has been unsuccessful, in anticipation of this we have been hard at work contacting various guests all weekend and we have been able to secure the appearance of the following two guests. We are trying for another guest but at this late stage we can not be sure if we can pull it off with such short notice but we are trying. Photo Op refunds will be dealt with after the event.

KELLY HU - The Vampire Pearl

Kelly has an impressive resume but it is as Pearl from the Vampire Dairies that has caught the attention of her most recent fan base. Pearl is a vampire who posed as an apothecary. She was a friend of Katherine and they moved together to Mystic Falls in 1864. Pearl was a beautiful and very powerful woman, not only physically, but mentally and was not afraid to use physical violence in order to maintain order and control. Kelly is a former Miss Teen USA, and modeled in Japan and Italy for several months before deciding to relocate to L.A. and try her hand at show business. She got her break on TV's "Growing Pains" (1985) in 1987 and never looked back. Most recently Kelly has appeared in NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles as Lee Wan kao, as well as popular TV shows such as Army Wives, Numb3rs, Law & Order, CSI: New York and classic TV shows such as of Martial Law (Chen Pei Pei), Nash Bridges (Insp Michelle Chan) and Sunset Beach (Rae Chang). In films Kelly played The Tournament as Lai Lai Zhen, Lady Deathstrike in X2 (aka Xmen 2), The Scorpion King as The Sorceress and as Eva Watanabe in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

BENJAMIN AYRES - Jason Bartlett/William Tanner

Benjamin has appeared in both The Vampire Diaries and in Smallville. In season six of Smallville he was often seen advising Lex Luthor of the latest updates on the project. He found Titan and he gave more information for Lex. After Bizarro is caught, he breaks loose. He goes after Bartlett, and Bartlett is killed by the phantom as Lex and the doctor try to escape. In The Vampire Diaries he played Teacher and Coach William Tanner in the first three episodes of season one until his untimely death at the hands of Damon Salvatore in episode three Friday Night Bites. Benjamin has a also appeared in many film and TV shows including Stargate SG1, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, Psych, jPod and most recently as Mike in Dan for Mayor.

We are very grateful to both Kelly and Benjamin for stepping in at such short notice to appear at Insurgence we hope you will give them a very warm welcome this weekend.

Tickets Available On The Door

Payment for the General Weekend Tickets are non refundable. Terms and Conditions apply. Packages start from £85 for Adults and £45 for Children aged 16 and under. Children must be aged 16 or under at time of event to qualify for a Child rate ticket. Children Under 7 can come in FREE with a paying adult, but does not include autographs from the actors attending the event. If autographs are required then they must buy a Child Ticket. Payment can be made by cash or credit card at the Registration Desk from Friday afternoon.

EVENING DISCOS/PARTIES

We have three discos/parties for you over the weekend, entry is FREE to all attendees as long as you wear your event wristband.

MICHAEL TREVINO - Tyler

Please welcome Michael Trevino as our 3rd special guest. Since the fall of 2009, Michael has appeared as Tyler Lockwood in the highly successful CW series, The Vampire Diaries, based on the original books by L. J. Smith.

Michael Trevino first gained recognition in his early twenties, for his role in the Disney
Channel telemovie Cow Belles and has guest starred in CSI, 90210, The Riches and Bones.

MICHAEL ROSENBAUM - Lex Luthor

It gives us great pleasure to announce Michael Rosenbaum as a special guest. Since the fall of 2001, Michael has starred as Lex Luthor in the highly successful WB series, Smallville, based on the original "Superman" concept.

Following the story of the teenage Clark Kent in Smallville, the series shows the dynamic beginning of the relationships between Clark Kent, Lana Lang and Lex Luthor. For the role, Rosenbaum shaved his head and transformed himself into the spoiled, well-to-do son and future Superman arch nemesis. His portrayal of Lex has garnered the attention of critics and fans alike.

Disabled Facilities

We are pleased to announce that all the function rooms we are using within the hotel have access for wheelchairs. We have arranged space at the front of the stage talks for those attendees who have wheelchairs or find it difficult to move around unassisted.

There are no strobe effects during the stage talks however there are short intro videos and flash photography at the beginning of the stage talks which may affect some attendees who suffer from epilepsy & other visual light stimulation effects. Please contact the hotel regarding disabled facilities in the bedrooms. We don't offer discounts on our event tickets however if someone needs assistance to attend the event then please email us to discuss further options.
